This quilt was designed to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee - 70 amazing long years on the throne. May it be the smile-inducing backdrop to many celebrations in June. However, for the rest of the year, it is just as suited to being used as a picnic blanket, sofa or bed covering, or make-shift ape for anybody who likes playing make-believe. You too may be the king or queen of your kingdom with this quilt!
The quilt is constructed using traditional and simple patchwork techniques. Strip piecing and half-square triangles (HSTs) are simple to make and the techniques for both are easy to master.
Your kit uses a mixture of Liberty Tana Lawn prints and plains as well as a Tilda Tea Towel fabric to create a suitably British red, white and blue coloured quilt.
