This brightly coloured band sampler would be an ideal first attempt at this very popular type of counted embroidery. The borders are taken from an old Czech sampler, kindly allowed by Zweigart and Sawitski. Worked in cross stitch, double cross stitch and other additional stitches but still possible on Aida fabric. The example in the picture was stitched on 14-count linen aida but it is available on linen or Aida.
