In 2018, things hit rock bottom for me in my personal life, and I’m not ashamed to say that I literally stopped coping. As a doting mother to two sons, one with complex special needs, and a loyal wife to Mark, I tried so hard to prevent the cracks appearing, but drastic events were overwhelming my inner-peace, and even with Mark’s support, I just couldn’t see any light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Being a determined character, I eventually pulled myself together and surrounded myself with dreams of having a successful career and finding comfort in sewing and all things creative. My company, Sew Pretty Sew Mindful, became my focus as I approached it with a new mindset, and my new-found confidence and self-esteem started to flourish, so much so, that two years ago I found myself making a debut appearance on the wonderfully engaging TV programme, Sewing Street.

My family are supportive, but life hasn’t always been easy over the past decade, my thoughts having been a rollercoaster of emotions. This is my story about my struggles and successes, my family and my career. But above all, it is my story that I hope will encourage you to one day have your own tale to tell.

"I am humbled to have gained a friend, and a teacher, for sewing and for life. Enjoy the book (you may need a supply of tea and tissues)." Sarah Maskell MBE FCIPD CCMI RAF

"A beautiful story of everyday struggles, family life, a successful career, and inspirational friends." Kathryn Hall, Ghostwriter & Editor
