I adore Christmas and ever since I was a little girl loved the theatre of Christmas Eve, hanging the stockings and preparing for Rudolph, and the unbearable excitement of waking Christmas Day in the hope of lots of presents. To this day, we still gather excitedly as a family, adults and children alike, to rummage through our stockings early on Christmas morning!

This beautiful sewing pattern uses quick machine piecing and appliqué techniques to create a wonderful personalised Christmas stocking. Designed to be constructed using your fabric stash of scraps, the stocking front is pieced and the appliqué images and lettering use small varied fabrics.

The pattern includes designs for an angel, snowman and reindeer, with a full alphabet, stars and hearts templates. Detailed instructions guide you through the construction of stocking and lining and the creation of the layered appliqué designs making the pattern suitable for all abilities and lots of close-up photographs show Janet’s quilting and fabric selections.

Full size templates are included on a large separate sheet, with the alphabet printed in reverse, meaning marking out your appliqué designs and stocking is fast and simple.

Two of the stockings you see in this pattern were created for my boys many years ago – they have lasted many frenetic Christmas mornings and I love the fact that they were created especially for them and that they are still enjoyed as much now as when they were tiny.
