Product Summary

‘Good Tidings’ is striking quilt with hidden meaning! The central appliqué and embroidery part of each block (which remind me of sailor’s tattoos) has a ‘true north’ word to live by. As you make the quilt actively look for and cherish your good luck, count your blessings and generally be as positive as possible, capturing your good tidings and stitching them into your quilt blocks.

Start a list of all the good tidings you can think of and notice as you make your quilt and I promise you there will be too many to stitch!

It is constructed using traditional quilting techniques and whilst some patchwork experience will make this project easier, the techniques are simple to learn, making it suitable for all experience levels.

The pattern guides you through preparing, constructing and piecing the blocks, and includes notes on preparing the quilt backing, wadding, layering up and binding.

Janet’s quilt was originally made in ‘To The Sea’ fabric collection and this pattern includes pictures of the original quilt and digital images of new version made in ‘Longshore’ fabrics. In both cases, it features a palette of dark, mid and pale blue, cream and sand fabrics, but you can easily choose your own, just select five distinct tones.

Finished quilt measures 66” x 66” (167cm x 167cm).
