Find out more about this product

‘Up Hill Down Dale’ is a stunning contemporary quilt design using traditional patchwork techniques.

Designed to use the pre-cut fabrics, simply take two 10” layer cakes, each comprising 42 squares of pre-cut 10” fabric, to construct the quilt top. Alternatively, raid your stash and gather tonally contrasting 10” squares in your favourite fabrics to make the quilt.

Some patchworking and quilting experience recommended, but the project is suitable for all experience levels and can be tackled by an ambitious novice! The detailed pattern guides you through cutting your fabric, block construction, piecing the quilt top and includes notes on preparing the quilt backing, wadding and layering up.

The finished quilt measures 59 ½ x 90 inches.

The Story

Almost every quilter, patch worker and crafter I know loves a pre-cut packs of fabric. But I expect like me whilst these wonderful bundles look lovely stacked in your sewing room, it is great to have specific projects for them too.

This quilt pattern was designed with that in mind! The quilt top is constructed using two 10” layer cakes (each comprising 42 squares of pre-cut 10” fabric).

Using traditional patchwork piecing techniques, this pattern guides you through the process of sorting your fabrics and creating a wonderful set of quilt blocks that can be arranged in this stunning geometric design.
