Hajime Collection by Stuart Hillard for Lewis & Irene Fabrics

Hajime marks the first collection by Stuart Hillard for Lewis & Irene but retains his theme of exploring the beauty of our global textile heritage. Hajime is Japanese for "beginning" or "to begin" and these designs have developed from "rough marks on a page" through several stages to become stylised florals, windblown reeds, clouds and interlocking cubes, Drawn in shades of indigo, blue and tan the colours are inspired by vintage mens kimono, once ubiquitous in Japan, re-imagined for modern sewing projects, clothing, quilting, bagmaking and crafts.
