I have a larger cutting and ironing mat that I keep my by sewing machine, but the A4 size is perfect for when I am sitting watching TV and preparing my patchwork blocks, or any smaller pieces I'm working on.

Compact and easy to transport, ideal if you are sewing "on the move" eg on holiday, whilst working away etc.
Well thought out product with just enough of all the surfaces you might need. Reasonably lightweight for such a well constructed item.
