Gemporia Craft is proud to relaunch the very popular Craftopia Weekends – starting with a two-day crafting retreat at the Abbey Hotel, Golf & Spa in Redditch, Worcestershire on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th November 2024.

Two days of fabulous craft projects, with everything laid on for you, with some of your favourite craft experts in an exclusive setting. Sound good? Then read on!

The Craftopia Workshops have become known as an exclusive retreat to craft, relax, and have fun with likeminded people, in a luxurious setting, with good food and some of the best tutors in the industry.

Gemporia Craft carries such a wide array of crafts through JewelleryMaker, Sewing Street and HobbyMaker – they were the natural partners in curating a premium crafting experience.

There’s loads of varied content and skills to learn (details below) and hopefully an experience you’ll remember for years to come.

The Venue

Nestled in a beautiful 175-acre estate in the town of Redditch, this multi award-winning 4-star hotel is the perfect location to craft and relax in.

As well as the workshops, relaxing rooms and great food – there is an 18-hole golf course, or chance to indulge in a few hours of pampering in the spa.

The tickets available are for single or double occupancy and workshop attendance.

If you would like to bring your partner along – but they don’t want to be involved in the crafting experience and meals – simply book a single ticket and let us know.

If you are crafting, all your meals, snacks, and refreshments in the hotel restaurant are included too.

Our dedicated retreat rooms are the Henley and Arden suites, with stunning views of the golf courses. Groups are limited up to 15 people each, with plenty of space for those that need it.

The Workshops

Your tutors for the weekend are Sandra Rushton, Debbie Kershaw, Carla Bagshaw and Jenny Jackson, who have put together exclusive Make & Takes for you to take part in – with a chance for some 1-2-1 tuition, a crafty gossip over a cup of tea and maybe some cake too!

The emphasis may be on fun, but you’ll still be picking up skills that you can return to when the retreat is over. You’ll be exploring paper crafts, tangling, jewellery making and sewing.

Our tutors will demonstrate each project clearly, and will be on hand to make sure you feel confident with the techniques you’re using.

No special skills are required for this retreat. It’s no problem if you do have experience of any of the techniques – you’ll get to enjoy a lovely project, and develop your skills and confidence further.

Any Special Offers For Those Attending?

There will be an EXCLUSIVE 20% discount code just for those attending the workshop for you to use on the HobbyMaker, JewelleryMaker and/or Sewing Street website. Bring your shopping lists!

What Else Do I Need To Bring?

Here’s the best part – nothing!

However – you might want to leave some space in your luggage as you’ll be going home with more than you arrived with…

Your Weekend in Detail

Attendees will be divided into four groups, and will be rotated through each workshop over the weekend. (We will make sure that roommates and friends aren’t split up, as much as possible.)

This way – everyone gets to experience everything in an unhurried and timely manner. SO – no matter which workshop you do first, you will do them all.

Below is your timetable for both days.
