Our whole family loves penguins, but Henry my youngest son is their biggest fan.

Several years ago I listening to a fascinating program on Radio 4 about the plight of the penguin. It included an interview with Dr. Pablo Borboroglu founder and president of the Global Penguin Society and after the broadcast I wrote and told him how interested we were in the program and his work. We were lucky enough to meet him in London shortly after and a friendship has developed.

So it was only a matter of time before I created a little penguin and he is named ‘Popi’ after Pablo.

Popi the Penguin has been carefully designed to capture the character of these lovely birds and whilst not designed to look like any specific breed (there are 18!), he has a delicately curved and pointed body and tail and a friendly face. Kit includes:

· Black and white wool mix felt

· 100% cotton yellow embroidery thread

· John James embroidery needle to embroider the details on the tummy

· Step-by-step colour pattern card with a separate A4 sheet of full size templates
