'Austen' is a striking geometric quilt full of movement and designed using traditional patchwork techniques. The pattern shows how a single traditional patchwork block made of squares and half-square triangles can be used to create several striking designs just by varying the colours in the block. The design looks great in bold colours, florals or just two or three plain fabrics.

Nobody really likes quilt maths, so this pattern includes detailed requirements for three colourways and four sizes making it easy to gather the materials you need to create a mini quilt or one for a double bed:

· Mini – 24” x 24”

· Lap – 60” x 60”

· Single – 72” x 64”

· Double – 84” x 108”

My quilt features a variety of cream and blue fabric prints from my fabric collections for Moda, but you can easily choose your own. The total yardage of pale, mid and dark tone fabrics required to make different quilt sizes and designs is included.

The detailed pattern guides you through cutting your fabric, preparing and piecing the blocks, and includes notes on preparing the quilt backing, wadding, layering up and binding.

Having some patchwork experience will make this project easier, but the techniques are simple to learn, making it suitable for all experience levels.
